**My favorite is Opah's in RSM.  You must try the Halibut! YUM!

Wine Review

Have you been to Amazing Grapes on Avenida Aventura in RSM?
Great wine bar and huge selection of wines that are priced better than Costco.

Uncorked on El Paseo in RSM is under new ownership.  Cozy wine bar for wine and cheese tastings.

If you discover a new wine that  you love...email kathleenmonroe@cox.net we'd love to hear about it.

** My personal favorites:
Chardonnay 2003
Rombauer Vineyards Carneros Chardonnay is a rich wine filled with aromas of mango, pineapple, apples and spice. On the palate are crisp flavors of tropical fruit, integrated with rich vanilla from oak barrel aging. A memorable finish of light oak nuances and a delicious buttery tone linger on the palate.

Conundrum 2003  White Table Wine
Winery Notes
In the end, we had the broad palette we wanted for this wine: aromas of apricot, white peach and honeysuckle; flavors of citrus, green melon, pear and vanilla; a creamy, mouth-filling texture; and a crisp, refreshing citrus end-note. With this 2003 vintage, we have chosen to bottle Conundrum with a twist-topa closure that is as untraditional, and perhaps as adventurous, as our wine. We believe this twist top is the perfect tool to protect the fresh, fruity, bright flavors we worked to achieve in the vineyard and in the winery.

Caymus Cabernet 1996
Attractive creamy, toasty oak up-front, with supple currant and black cherry folding in beneath. Though it remains complex on the finish, it comes up shy in depth and added dimensions compared with previous vintages. Grapes are from the sources normally used for the Special Selection, which was not made in '96. Drink now through 2007  Rated *92

Clos de Bois 2001 Marlstone Meritage 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 8.5% Malbec, 1.5% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot
Winery Notes
Marlstone is complex and elegant. The nose is inviting and aromatic with intense blackfruit, cocoa, roasted coffee, and subtle spice aromas. Concentrated fruit flavors of ripe blackberry and cassis grace the palate and are delivered with supple tannins on a rich mouthfeel that leads to a long silky finish.
